Reflecting on personal lived experiences and cultural inheritance, “La Bebé de Mamá” centers on the Dominican craft tradition of Muñecas Limé, ceramic dolls created to celebrate the Dominican Republic’s racial diversity. This exhibition features a series of sculptural incense burners that reimagine the Muñecas Limé as devotional objects, related to ancestral spiritual practices such as cleansing with herbs.
